ALYSSA MILANO

It's nice to be important, but it's important to always be nice.

Alyssa Jayne Milano was born on 10th December of 1972 to Tom, a music editor and Lin Milano, a fashion designer. Her parents are Italian-American and Alyssa was born in a working class neighborhood in Brooklyn. She grew up in a modest house on Staten Island.

Her stage debut was on Broadway in the musical Annie at the age of 8, and her television debut in 1984 with her role as Tony Danza's daughter in the popular sitcom Who's the Boss?, which ran for eight years. She won three Youth In Film awards for Best Supporting Actress. While playing Annie she toured throughout the States for almost 14 months. And after successful stint as Samantha in Who's the Boss she took a hiatus after eight long years.

She returned back on screen after realizing that acting was her true passion. She looked to film, but didn't have huge success. Embrace of the Vampire and Poison Ivy 2 were considered soft porn in some sectors. In the meantime Alyssa had a brief stint as a pop star in the early 90's, releasing several dance/pop style albums in that were quite popular in Japan and Europe. In fact, in those countries many people think of her as a singer first, and an actress second!. She has had 5 albums released in Japan which all went platinum. These were titled Alyssa, Look In My Heart, Best in the world,Locked In a Dream, and Do You See Me?

With the lack of success Alyssa was having in films, she decided to give television another shot. Her role on Melrose Place again thrust her into the public eye and sent her career rebounding. She was with the show for two seasons, before being named as an early replacement in the cast of Charmed, co-starring Holly Marie Combs and Shannen Doherty. The role on the show proved Alyssa to be in it for the long run, and she is now well-enconsed in success.

Milano also starred in a made-for-TV movie called To Brave Alaska, about a couple fighting for their lives when they are abandoned in Alaska. She also starred in the made-for-tv movies The Surrogate,Candles in the Dark, and as Amy Fisher in the CBS rendition of the renowned Long Island Lolita.

She has played Reese Witherspoon's promiscuous best friend in the 1996 thriller Fear. The same year as her debut on Melrose Place, Milano attended the Sundance Film Festival, where her new movie, Hugo Pool premiered. At the festival she was awarded with the Spirit Award for women. Many may not remember, but she has also acted with Arnold Schwazzenneger as his daughter in the classic Commando.

Alyssa has seven tattoos. She has a sacred heart on her behind, a fairy kneeling in grass on her hip, rosary beads on her back, an angel on her left ankle, an Orobous (a snake biting its own tail) on her right wrist, an "Om" on the other wrist and a garland of flowers around her right ankle. Her favorite sport is Hockey. She likes to Play piano and flute. Her ex-husband, Cinjun Tate, is the lead singer for the rock group, Remy Zero.

"I've always believed in experiencing everything in life. When you walk out with blinders on, you cut yourself off from the angels and the fairies."

Alyssa also created a big stir with her TV dad, Tony Danza, when she posed nude in the 1993 pages of
Bikini magazine.
